Well, there's a BMW CoUNTryman JCW, so that makes fiscal sense...

AWD is coming to the 500L, but in what capacity or when has not yet been discussed. Someone from the manufacturer let that slip to me last week. 500L Abarth with 240+ HP and AWD sure would make a lot of sense, even though it'd probably start at $27k.

Also, check out this AN article which recaps a lot of the FIAT rumor mill. I wouldn't be surprised if FIAT continued this path of a 500 sub brand, and it mentions a Panda sub brand. Love it or hate it, Mini has had success with their sub brands, and continue to push sales even with enthusiasts bemoaning the Countryman and (admittedly idiotic) Paceman. But, shitty models have never dissuaded enthusiasts before. Case in point: Jalop hates on the Versa, but creams it's collective shorts over the GTR. Same company.
